What IS the “Messy Middle”?

A lot of times (especially on social media) we see people living their food freedom life.

We see them eating cake, not caring about calories and not needing to clean their plate.

But here’s what you DON’T see:

  • You let yourself eat the cookies, but they still whisper your name from the cabinet until they’re gone.
  • You try to listen to your body, but all you hear is static.
  • You swear you’ll stop when you’re fullbut somehow you’re unbuttoning your pants and wondering, “What just happened?”

You’re doing all the Intuitive Eating things but it still feels like food is running your life. And deep down, you’re asking: “Is this just how it’s gonna feel forever?”

THE SHORT ANSWER IS NO. 

Because after years of food rules and restrictions, your brain and body are very DISCONNECTED.

Phase 1: Unravel

Before things start to feel easier, we have to name what’s making them hard. 

In this phase, we’ll uncover the hidden beliefs and patterns that are keeping you stuck, mentally, physically, and emotionally.

You’ll begin to unravel:

  • The deeper why behind your binges (and why the guilt hits so hard)
  • The fear that you “can’t be trusted” with certain foods
  • Why you still feel out of control around cookies — even after giving yourself permission to eat them

Phase 2: Relearn

This is the messy, magical middle, where transformation actually begins. 

In this phase, you’ll practice new behaviors, feel uncomfortable (on purpose), and start reconnecting with your body in real time.

You’ll start to relearn:

  • How to buy and eat ice cream regularly without spiraling
  • How to sit with guilt or shame without “starting over” tomorrow
  • How to eat even when you're unsure if it’s true hunger  and learn from it

Phase 3: Reclaim

This is where food starts to feel easy. 

You stop thinking about it all the time. You trust your body. You make decisions based on your life, not your food rules.

You’ll begin to reclaim:

  • Joyful, spontaneous moments (like saying yes to pizza at the pool without overthinking it)
  • Freedom to enjoy treats without fear, guilt, or judgment
  • The ability to forget about cookies because you’re not obsessing anymore

This is where eating becomes natural (aka intuitive.)

Your mind becomes free with flexibility.

You start living life on your terms, not foods.

Hi, I’m Michaela — a Dietitian who specializes in intuitive eating and helps people make peace with food. 

I created this course because so many of my clients come to me saying the same thing:
